Md. Nasimul Islam Maruf is the Vice president of Projects department. Maruf loves developing and implementing innovative programs, products and services. Maruf has over 7 years of experience working in Education and Energy Research projects. Some of his research projects have been published in reputed international journal and conference papers. At Light of Hope, he is currently in charge of developing ‘Low Energy Consuming Multimedia Classroom Solution for Off-grid Schools’ and ‘DIY Science Toys’. He is also in-charge of Light of Hope’s Library Project ‘Porua’ since its inception.
He was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received his B.Sc. Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2008 from IUT, Bangladesh, and M.Sc. Dual Degree in Erasmus Mundus ‘Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems’ in 2013 from KTH, Sweden and TU/e, The Netherlands. He also completed a Crash Course on ‘Entrepreneurship’ in 2012 at ESADE Business School, Spain. He is serving as an Assistant Professor at American International University Bangladesh (AIUB).
He is passionate about leading Light of Hope through periods of substantial growth and transition. His favorite hobbies are watching movies, travelling and reading books.
